Designed to act as a soucing hub and all year round tradeshow, Source4Style brings together a wealth of knowledge, products and services into one user friendly space. All those featured on the site are explained in detail, with their eco credentials clearly stated, alongside information about supply chain logistics such as lead times and minimum orders. Swatches can be ordered, or sample lengths, directly from the manufacturers around the world and designers can request special orders.
Founded by Summer Rayne Oakes and Benita Singh in New York, S4S is expanding its marketplace continually and recently launched their 2.0 website, which now includes a Trend forecast area and Design Lab.
Whilst it is still, perhaps, better suited to practicing designers than students the site begins to show what a wealth of options are available in this ever expanding sustainabile fabrics market. And brings together knowledge and research which allows designers to spend less time sourcing indidivually and more time designing, confident in the value of the materials they chose to use.
