Iris Pederson has experimented with a much darker background than is normally used by the Lambani women, with their fabrics often comprising of reds, oranges and yellows. I think this is a very interesting way to approach it as the colours of the yarns really stand out. They would have to use less threads to get a bigger impact, this way they could spend more on quality materials and still attract the western market. I can't wait to see more images Iris!
I also love the detial of the stiching in the centers of the motifs.
